Corridor Evaluation Public Workshop

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host two Public Workshops for the proposed Gulf Coast Parkway. The meetings will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 6 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. EDT in Port St. Joe, FL and Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 6 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. CDT in Springfield, FL. This new roadway will provide a connection between U.S. 98 in Gulf County with U.S. 231 (north of Panama City) and U.S. 98 in Bay County. The public workshops are being held to accommodate participants; the same information will be presented at each meeting. The public is invited to provide comments and preferences on proposed corridors for the proposed roadway. Feedback received from the public will be used to assist in determining corridors for future study.

Aerial photographs and other comparative data will be on display at the meetings for the public to be able to effectively evaluate the corridors. Also, surveys will be given in order to collect public opinion and preferences. Project staff will also be available to answer questions and discuss the project.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Greg Vaughn toll free at (866) 940-7275, ext. 7907 at least seven days prior to the meeting.
